Skyline Drivers consists of seasoned, a.k.a., long-in-the-tooth, players of bluegrass, country blues, old time country and country rock music. The group's revolving personnel live in different states, both literally and figuratively and perform with worn out gear during weekends at tired venues located throughout the nation's underbelly. Tinker Creek Breakdown
Buford Poates 1969
On your mossy banks I stood as a pilgrim
while over stones and between the trees you flowed
I fished your eddies and pools for the bounty
as you made your way on down to the cove
You provided that part of life for our neighbors
who'd have never thought you'd take it away
But your veins could not handle the volume
of the heavy rains that fell on us that day
You picked up speed as you rolled on through the valley
and your once crooked course became a straight and wide path
The boulders and logs became your battering rams
and for two full days you released all of your wrath
What was left behind was salvaged by those who needed
and your water was reserved for the town
They choked you with their concrete and their steel
but the day will come when Tinker Creek will break it down
